The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova in response to the White House said that Moscow "does not return its territories".
“We do not return our territories. Crimea is the territory of the Russian Federation,” Zakharova said at a briefing, according to Ukrainian media.
Earlier QHA reported that February 14, a spokesman for the White House Sean Spicer stated that the US president Donald Trump expects active participation of Moscow in the de-escalation of the conflict in Ukraine.
In March 2014, following the arrival of its troops, Russia annexed the Ukrainian peninsula having organized an illegal "referendum".
Western countries, the United States did not recognize the annexation of Crimea and imposed a number of economic sanctions against Russia. For Ukraine, the Crimea remains a temporarily occupied territory.
