In the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation they came to the conclusion about Brussels to have lost its "identity” in connection with the statement of the President of the European Council Donald Tusk on the common position of the United States and the EU on Donbas, according to the UNIAN correspondent in the Russian Federation.
“As for the common position I do not really understand what is at stake. This is an interesting point about which general agenda the EU president was talking about. We have always said that in recent years Europe has lost its own identity in solving international issues and in the formation of its foreign policy agenda”, the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russian Federation Maria Zakharova stated at a briefing in Moscow.
She also noted that she saw “some fear of the disparities of his view on the international situation with the position of Washington” in Donald Tusk’s statement.
Earlier, on May 25, after a meeting with the US President, the President of the European Council Donald Tusk reported about the same line of European Union and the United States on the conflict in Ukraine.
