On the eve of elections to the State Duma, the Russian Embassy in Kyiv is preparing a defense and installs additional barriers, Strana.ua informs.

“Apart from  the two openwork metal fences, the Russian diplomats have decided to protect the embassy with additional  solid metal fence. The windows are closed with steel exterior blinds,” the publication reported.

Russia announced its intention to open four polling stations in its diplomatic missions in Kyiv, Lviv, Odessa and Kharkov. The election campaign is conducted on the territory of Crimea, occupied by Russia in the spring of 2014.

September 8, Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted a resolution calling on the parliaments of foreign states, International Parliamentary Assemblies and organizations to refrain from monitoring the illegal parliamentary elections in the occupied Crimea, and under no circumstances  recognize their results.
