A session of the Russia’s Donetsk City Court, which is due to pass a final sentence on Nadezhda Savchenko, a Ukrainian pilot illegally held in Russia, began at 10 a.m. (Kyiv time) today.
Mark Feygin and Nikolay Polozov, Savchenko’s lawyers, are present in the courtroom during the announcement of the verdict.
“The Court has begun to announce the verdict. As I expected, the judge mutters. The most tedious part of the process,” tweeted Nikolay Polozov.
He confirms that, in spite of everything, Savchenko carries herself well and is in good spirits.
“Nadia today is cheerful, strong, steady,” the lawyer wrote.
It was reported earlier that Nadezhda Savchenko, a Ukrainian pilot illegally held in captivity in Russia, has been brought to the premises of the Russia’s Donetsk Court in Rostov region. One of the political prisoner’s lawyers Nikolay Polozov believes that his client could be sentenced to 20-25 years in prison.
