Russia will not attend Eastern Partnership summit in Vilnius

(QHA) - The Eastern Partnership Vilnius summit is a meeting of the European Union and six member states, and it will not be attended by Russia, said Maja Kocijancic, spokesperson for EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton, informs Kyiv Post. She said the EU was maintaining regular contacts with its strategic partner and important neighbor, Russia, and the sides had been discussed the Eastern Partnership initiative as a part of their regular contacts. She also said she expected the discussions to continue in the future. The discussion of all pressing issues with Russia will go on but it will not be present at the Vilnius summit, Kocijancic said.
