Russian TV channel Russia Today (RT) released footage from the Hmeymim airbase in Syria, showing the airplane of Russian aerospace forces with cluster munitions.

The footage was included into the video about the inspection of the air base by Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu on June18.

The video shows RBK-500 ZAB-2.5 cm bombs - single cluster bombs with an incendiary warhead.

Having noticed a blunder, RT TV channel removed a 5 -second footage with bombs from the video posted on YouTube. However, it has already got into the social network.

Conflict Intelligence Team, dealing with investigations into Russia’s participation in the Syrian war, compared the original version and the corrected one and released the video with Russian bombs again.

Article 2 of Protocol III to the Convention "On the Prohibition or Restrictions on the Use of Certain Conventional Weapons Which May Be Deemed to Be Excessively Injurious or to Have Indiscriminate Effects" prohibits the use of any incendiary weapons against civilian targets and aerial incendiary munitions against military targets located in residential areas.
