The blowing up of four transmission towers which disrupted power supplies to Crimea has caused Russia to send 12 tanks to the Crimean border.

In its turn, the Ukrainian Interior Ministry has stepped up patrolling in the Kherson region, said Illya Kiva, Head of the Antinarcotics Unit within the Interior Ministry.

“We are getting intelligence reports that the Russian troops in Crimea have been put on full alert. Tanks and GRAD multiple launch systems have been stationed in the immediate proximity to the Crimean border,” said Kiva.

Kiva also emphasized that repair crews have not started fixing the damaged power line yet.
