Russia’s Foreign Minister insulted his Saudi Arabian counterpart

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has called his colleague from Saudi Arabia ‘a moron’.

Thinking that the microphone was turned off, Lavrov used the swear word while listening to Adel al-Jubeir, Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister. The incident took place at a press conference held in Moscow on August 11, 2015.

Lavrov and Adel al-Jubeir were reported to have discussed the fate of Bashar al-Assad, Syrian President, during their meeting prior to the press-conference.

Saudi Arabia insists that President Assad has no future in Syria, while the Russian side thinks differently, traditionally defending the Syrian leader’s interests.
