Commissioner for the Ukrainian President on Temporarily Occupied Territories, George Tuka, said on air of a Ukrainian TV channel that Russia, being weakened economically, would not be able to put pressure on the national movements within the constituent republics.
“The optimal unarmed method of returning (Crimea – Ed.) will be the moment when, under the weight of economic processes in Russia and under certain factors, this process (collapse of Russia - Ed.) will accelerate... And I do not doubt it ... We have witnessed the events of the 90s, when Tatarstan, Bashkortostan, Ural Republic, Kaliningrad were ‘crackling at the seams’ until Caucasus broke out,” said Tuka.
In September, when the FSB detained the so-called "saboteurs," George Tuka predicted strengthening Russian provocations against Ukraine.
