MOSCOW (QHA) -

The issue of resuming the humanitarian pause in Syria, torn by civil war, is not on the agenda of the Russian government, according to the Deputy Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation:

“The issue of the resuming the humanitarian pause is not relevant. Humanitarian pause ended on Saturday. In order to return to such a regime, our opponents should ensure adequate behavior of anti-government groups, which, in particular, disrupted medical evacuation, scheduled for the period of the humanitarian pause."

October 18, the Russian Defense Ministry announced the suspension of air strikes on Aleppo until the end of the so-called humanitarian pause, scheduled for October 20. The Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu stated that militants will be able to leave Aleppo during the "humanitarian pause". October 20, the "humanitarian pause" was extended for four days.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel has suggested the introduction of European Union sanctions against Russia for its air force bombing of Syria.
