A dialogue between NATO and Russia takes place at the ambassadorial level, but so far it is unlikely to lead to mutual understanding.

A Spokesman for the Russian President Dmitry Peskov believes NATO and Russia cannot achieve mutual understanding due to mutual trust deficit, UNIAN reports.

“A dialogue takes place at the ambassadorial level, but it is unlikely to bring us closer to achieving greater understanding. But I repeat: such a dialogue at the level of ambassadors continues,” said Peskov, responding to a question about the possibility of holding a NATO-Russia Council meeting in Russia.

At the same time, he stressed that the NATO exercises in Poland do not contribute to an atmosphere of trust and security.

QHA reported earlier that Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Russia never intended to carry out an attack on any NATO country.
