Romania hosted meeting of WCCT Board

The first meeting of the Board of the 1st World Congress of Crimean Tatars (WCCT) was held in Constanta city, Romania, on August 30, 2015.


The meeting, attended by 18 of 24 members of the Board, started with the dua (prayer) recited by Mufti of Romania. Then, the appointment to positions was carried out in compliance with the 1st point of Agenda.


Thus, Mukremin Shaheen, Gelil Eserghep, Lenur Islyamov and Umit Shilit were elected as Deputy Chairmen of the WCCT. Namyk Kemal Bayar was appointed as Secretary General. Samir Menan, Adas Yakubauskas and Ervin Ibrahim were appointed as under-Secretaries. Erven Oldjai got a position of accountant and Metin Omer became his assistant. Then, the members of the Board considered the 2nd point of Agenda relating to work program for 2015 – 2016. The meeting was held for 3 hours and finally, the decision was made to arrange a meeting in Kyiv in two months.

Furthermore, the meeting was attended by Amet Varol, deputy of the Romanian Parliament, Andrea Mokany, the Second Secretary of MFA of Romania, Ruhsar Demirel, MP in Turkey, Yusuf Murat, Great Mufti in Romania and Ersun Anefi, Deputy Governor of Constanta city.

During the meeting, Andrea Mokany said that Romania supports the territorial integrity of Ukraine and the national struggle of the Crimean Tatars. Ruhsar Demirel, addressing the Board of the Congress, wished everyone good luck and great success.
