The Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People Refat Chubarov congratulated Ukrainian Muslims on the end of Ramadan and the start of Eid al-Fitr. The Mejlis Head also wished the efforts aimed at the de-occupation of Crimea would be successful.

- Іnshallah, our efforts targeting the de-occupation of Crimea and its return under Ukraine’s control will be successful, and we, the Crimean Tatars - a part of the Muslim Ummah of Ukraine, will return to our homes and reunite with our loved ones in Crimea blessed by Allah, Refat Chubarov wrote on Facebook.

Eid al-Fitr is a holiday of breaking of the fast that marks the end of Ramadan, when during the daylight hours Muslims refrained from consuming food and drinking liquids.

This year millions of Muslims around the world celebrate the holiday on July, 5.

Early in the morning, Muslims perform a festive Namaz and then partake of a meal.

Eid al-Fitr can be celebrated from one to three days.

The Russian-controlled Crimea’s Head Sergey Aksyonov signed a decree "On the non-working public holiday" for the Muslims of Crimea.

Reportedly, about a thousand men, including the Black Sea Fleet servicemen, will gather in the main mosque of the city of Sevastopol to hold a festive prayer celebrating the Eid al-Fitr holiday.
