October 5, the Kremlin-controlled Kyiv district court of Simferopol extended the term of detention to Crimean Tatars Server Mustafaev and Edem Smailov involved in the Bakhchysarai "Hizb ut-Tahrir" case, public association Crimean Solidarity reported.

Crimean Tatars will remain in the detention facility until December 9, 2018.

Thus, the “court” rejected the petition of lawyers to change the preventive measure into house arrest.

During the court session, Edem Smailov stated that during the five months of his detention, the investigation failed to present evidence of his guilt.

According to Mustafayev, his presence at the court sessions against the Crimean Tatars and searches conducted by the security forces is not a motive for accusing him of terrorism.

QHA reported that on May 21, security forces conducted searches in the homes of the Crimean Tatars Server Mustafayev and Eden Smailov in Bakhchysarai. In the house of Eden Smailov three children were blocked, his wife was not allowed into the house.
