Speaking at a press conference held in Moscow today, December 17, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Russians are involved in the conflict in Donbas.
According to him, Russia has never denied that Russian citizens stayin in Donbas are engaged in ‘solution of certain issues, including those in the military sphere.’ However, he said that the Russian regular Army is not involved in the conflict.
The question about involvement of Russians in the conflict was asked by a Ukrainian journalist who conveyed greetings to Putin from Yevgeny Yerofeyev and Alexander Alexandrov - Russian citizens detained during a battle in Luhansk region.
Putin also noted that the exchange of Russians on Ukrainian political prisoners should be equivalent – ‘all for all’.
