Russian President Vladimir Putin noted that the decision adopted by the European Parliament to confront the pro-Kremlin propaganda shows "degradation of democracy in Western society."
Putin also welcomed the journalists whose publications had been noted in the resolution as a threat to European values. He noted that the mention of them suggests that the pro-Kremlin journalists, who, according to the resolution, hold a propaganda campaign against the European values, do a good job. According to the document, RT channel, Sputnik news agency, "Russian World and Rossotrudnichestvo" Fund (an agency under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs) represent the information threat to the EU.
The resolution to combat propaganda was adopted on November 23. According to the document, special agencies designed to discredit obviously untrue information, including the Russian media, will operate in Europe from now on.
