Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan had a phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin late Tuesday, Anadolu Agency reports citing Turkish sources.

During the 30-minute conversation, the two leaders exchanged opinions on finding a solution to the Ukraine crisis as well as the problems faced by the Crimean Tatars, sources said. Both leaders also expressed their willingness to further bilateral ties.

The phone call comes days before Erdogan’s visit to Kyiv, scheduled for Friday.
