Russian President Vladimir Putin responded to a statement by the Ukraine’s President Petro Poroshenko. The Head of the Ukrainian State said that Crimea and Donbas would be returned to Ukraine as well as the Ukrainian pilot Nadiya Savchenko, who had been illegally imprisoned in Russia, was returned.
According to Putin, the Donbas issue can be settled only in accordance with the Minsk Agreements. As for Russia-occupied Crimea, the Head of the Russian Federation considers this issue is closed.
- As for a Crimean issue, we believe, it is closed once for all. This is a historic decision of people living in Crimea, Putin told at a press conference after talks with Greek leadership as cited by TASS.
Putin stressed that "Russia is not going to discuss this issue with anybody." He added that in this regard, a well-known saying crossed his mind.
- Bite off more than you can chew. Therefore, we shall not return to this question any longer, said the President of the Russian Federation.
As QHA reported earlier, the Kremlin approves Petro Poroshenko’s desire to "return Donbas" if it’s driven by the humanitarian reasons.
