Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in Crimea on Friday to attend ceremonies commemorating Soviet Union’s victory over Nazi forces in World War II.

The naval and aviation parts of the parade will begin later in the day.

Over 1,000 servicemen, 70 warplanes and helicopters, and more than ten warships of the Russian Black Sea Fleet will participate in the parade in Sevastopolskaya Harbor.

This is Putin's first visit to Crimea since the peninsula annexation in March.
