On May 31, the General Prosecutor's Office issued summons to 727 persons charged with high treason and encroachment on territorial integrity and inviolability – crimes prescribed in the Criminal Code’s Articles 11 and 110, said Prosecutor General Yuri Lutsenko on your page to Facebook.

The subpoenas, carried by the Uriadovy Courier (Government Courier) and Golos Ukrainy (Voice of Ukraine) newspapers, were issued to 327 judges, 299 prosecutors, 134 deputies of the Supreme Council of Crimea and Sevastopol City Council, as well as 11 self-proclaimed representatives of the so-called ‘Crimean authorities’.

According to Lutsenko, amendments made to the Law on Prosecutor's Office made it possible to convict in absentia persons charged with particularly grave offences.

It was reported earlier that Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko told a news conference that the Prosecutor General's Office is investigating cases of more than 700 judges, prosecutors, deputies and other senior officials of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, who are charged with high treason.
