Project on forming gambling zone in Crimea submitted to State Duma

Russian President Vladimir Putin has introduced a bill on creating a special gambling zone in Crimea, according to an announcement made Monday on the webpage of the lower house of the Russian parliament Фзкшд 21.

The boarders of the zone to be determined by Crimean government, reads the bill.

Earlier, Crimean Premier Sergey Aksyonov noted, the issue of creating of special gambling zone in Crimea would be settled till May 1.

He also added the casino to be concentrated in one place, not all over Crimea.

Gambling in Russia is legal in only four regional subject areas, and in 2009 was banned in all other areas of Russia.

Should the bill pass, the Republic of Crimea will join the Altai, Kaliningrad, Krasnodar and Primorsky regions, where such zones are currently being established.
