The murder of journalist Pavel Sheremet could have been driven by an attempt to intensify the confrontation between the people and the powers, according to the MP Anton Gerashchenko in the air of "Channel 5", reports "Espresso."
"Today many thoeries are studied... One of the primary ones proves that Pavel Sheremet’s murder was demonstrative and aimed to mess up the political system. As well as to play the community off against the government, following the example of the Georgiy Gongadze’s murder," Gerashchenko said.
According to him, Sheremet’s conections with Russia are also studied.
July 20, at 7.45 am, a car, driven by Pavel Sheremet working as a journalist in Ukrainska Pravda edition and as a host on Radio.Vesti, exploded at the intersection of Bohdan Khmelnytsky and Ivan Franko Streets in Kyiv. The journalist died in the ambulance.
The car belonged to Olena Prytula, the head of Ukrainska Pravda edition, but she was not inside the vehicle. The cause of the explosion was a bomb planted in the vehicle.
