Poroshenko urges European Council to increase pressure on RF

Mustafa Jemilev, Commissioner of Ukrainian President on Crimean Tatars Affairs, shared information regarding the speech by Petro Poroshenko at the World Humanitarian Summit in Istanbul where President urged to step up pressure on the Russian Federation as the originator of the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine.

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko urged the Council of Europe to step up pressure on the Russian Federation in connection with the systematic violation of the rights of Crimean Tatars and Ukrainians in occupied Crimea. He stated this at a meeting with Secretary General of the Council of Europe Thorbjorn Jagland during his working visit to Turkey, Mustafa Jemilev wrote on Facebook.

In his speech at the World Humanitarian Summit, Petro Poroshenko spoke about the impact of the aggressor on Ukraine.

“The occupation of Crimea and the Russian military aggression in Donbas have had a great humanitarian impact on my country,” said Poroshenko and called for cooperation with international organizations to return peace in Ukraine.
