Poroshenko: Talks on release of 25 Ukrainians come to an end

According to President Poroshenko, Gennadiy Afanasyev and Yuri Soloshenko can also return home soon.

The talks on the release of the Ukrainians, currently held in occupied Donbas, have already come to an end, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko told in interview with Inter TV Channel as cited by the website of the Presidential Administration.

The President said that all resources have been involved to return Ukrainians, beginning with the Delegation in the Tripartite Contact Group in "Norman format".

- We have entered the final straight of the talks, terms and procedures for their return, said Poroshenko.

The Head of State went on saying that according to the preliminary talks the political prisoners Gennadiy Afanasyev and Yuri Soloshenko, who have been convicted in Russia, can also return to Ukraine in the near future.

May, 25 a Ukrainian pilot, MP Nadiya Savchenko was swapped for Russian GRU officers Evgeny Erofeev and Alexander Alexandrov.

The Ukrainian pilot returned home after being Illegally kept in Russia for almost two years.

Ukraine’s President Petro Poroshenko has awarded Nadiya Savchenko the Hero of Ukraine Order.
