KYIV (QHA) -

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko signed a decree extending the sanctions against a number of Russian citizens and Russian companies, as well as expanding the list of persons subject to sanctions.

Notably, the decree introduces the decision of the National Security Council of 16 September 2016 "On imposing of special personal economic and other restrictive measures (sanctions)."

Thus, the National Security Council supported the proposal to extend and impose sanctions suggested by the Cabinet, the NBU and the Security Service. The decision of the National Security Council also included lists of individuals and legal entities sanctioned for a period of one year.

The press service of the National Security Council informed that the list of those who fell under the sanctions has been expanded.

“Another 167 legal entities and 335 individuals who were subject to additional identity verification, entered the sanctions list,” the report says.

Moreover, Poroshenko instructed to draft a separate decision on sanctions against persons involved in carrying out the so-called "elections to the State Duma of the Russian Federation" in the annexed Crimea, dealing with "deputies" and members "of election commissions."

The National Security Council promised to publish a decision on the list of persons in the near future.
