The shelling of the city Avdiivka by the Russian-separatists forced the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko to interrupt his visit to Germany, presidential spokesman Svyatoslav Tsegolko informed on Twitter.
“The President's visit to Germany was interrupted due to attacks on Avdiivka by the Russian militants, which resulted in an emergency situation, bordering on a humanitarian disaster.”
Earlier, the governor of the Donetsk region Pavel Zhebrivskyi reported on the consequences of attacks in Avdiivka by pro-Russian militants on his Facebook page. According to him, the militants destroyed the last city power line due to which the city remained without water, electricity and heating.
“The terrorists have just destroyed the last power line in Avdiivka. They de-energized the filter station and Coke and chemical plant (which provides city with heating),” the governor said.
Earlier QHA reported that January 29 the Ukrainian military repulsed two attacks of the Russian-terrorist troops in Avdiivka.
