In his New Year's greetings Ukraine’s President Petro Poroshenko designated the power blockade of Crimea as one of the most important events in 2015.
The video shows a few seconds of Refat Chubarov’s speech who is the Head of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, as well as the footage of the undermined power lines in Kherson region. The shots are dated November 20.
In his greeting Poroshenko spoke about Ukraine’s national unity and European perspectives. The President also thanked the Ukrainian soldiers for giving the majority of Ukrainian citizens an opportunity to celebrate the New Year in a peaceful environment.
- Let’s bow to glorious Ukrainian soldiers who are not at warm holiday tables, but in a cold winter trenches, not with a glass in hand, but a gun at the ready. Glory to the heroes! said Poroshenko.
