"For Ukrainian people Boris Nemtsov will always remain a person, who considered freedom a universal value, which knew no national boundaries and no limits ... will remain a patriot of Russia and a friend of Ukraine, who had proved that these two points can be combined, if there is a wish"- reads the statement of Ukrainian President.

“For our and your freedom"- this historic slogan became the life motto of Boris Nemtsov. So I decided to award him the Order of Liberty," – Poroshenko said.

Boris Nemtsov, a prominent Russian opposition politician and former deputy prime minister, has been shot dead in Moscow -- two days before a planned protest against President Vladimir Putin's government and war in Ukraine.
