KYIV (QHA) -

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko commented on the introduction of EU sanctions against Russian companies involved in the construction of the Kerch Bridge.
According to the President, Kyiv should tighten sanctions against the Russian aggressor.

“Coupled with the June decision of the EU Council to extend the entire "Crimean package" of sanctions against Russia until June 23, 2019 and the historic Pompeo’s Declaration, the Kremlin received a rigid and powerful response to the question of Crimean belonging and status. Commissioned the Foreign Ministry to intensify work on further tightening of sanctions against the Russian aggressor and any physical or legal persons connected with an attempt to annex and interim occupation of the Ukrainian Crimea,” the Head of state wrote on his Facebook page.

Earlier, Ukraine's Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin supported the EU decision to impose sanctions over the construction of the Kerch Bridge.

QHA reported that the EU imposed sanctions against the companies Institute Giprostroymost - St. Petersburg JSC, Shipbuilding Plant Zaliv JSC, Stroigazmontazh-Most Ltd., Vologda VAD JSC, which were involved in the construction of the Kerch Bridge.

Previously, the EU also decided to impose individual sanctions against six people involved in the illegal construction of the Kerch Bridge.
