The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko instructed Ukrainian rescuers and doctors to provide assistance in overcoming the consequences of the earthquake in Italy, according to the president's press secretary Svyatoslav Tsegolko.
“The President instructed the Foreign Ministry to hold consultations with the Italian partners and to offer assistance of the Ukrainian rescuers and doctors to overcome the consequences of the earthquake in Italy. Corresponding instructions were provided on Auguust 24,” Svyatoslav Tsegolko wrote on his Facebook page.
A strong earthquake struck central Italy. As of August 25, the number of victims reached 247people. Rescue operations are continuing. The number of the earthquake victims is expected to increase.
