Instead of the bill on the occupied territories, a draft will be submitted to the Parliament of Ukraine on restoring the territorial integrity, according to the statement of Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko during the meeting of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine.
"Our partners do not understand why we ask for support in restoring the integrity of Ukraine, when a number of political forces made it their goal to get rid of Donbas and push several million Ukrainians into Russia. Legally, it is mandated by law on the occupied territories. Just imagine the other consequences of such legislative initiative! Such a law will destroy the Minsk process. It will bury international sanctions against the Russian Federation, since they are tied to "Minsk". The OSCE mission will leave the Donbas. We will be left face to face with the aggressor against the backdrop of the inevitable escalation of hostilities. Therefore, we will propose another law that meets the national interests of Ukraine - the Law on Restoring the Territorial Integrity of Our State," Poroshenko said.
Earlier March 15, at a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko proposed to suspend any transport communication with uncontrolled territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
