Poroshenko: hostilities may resume at any moment

Ukrainian President Pyotr Poroshenko said he absolutely distrusts Russian President Vladimir Putin, reports TSN citing the Ukrainian president’s statement during a meeting with commanding officers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

“We realize that hostilities may resume at any moment. Therefore, maintaining high morale, discipline and combat readiness is our top priority today. Why? I can tell you why – because I absolutely distrust Putin and his puppets, as well the promises they make,” said Poroshenko.

Poroshenko urged Ukrainians to be on their alert and be ready to defend their country at any moment.

“While struggling to settle the conflict in a way, which is most favorable for Ukraine both diplomatically and politically, we must, and I am being quite frank with you now, be prepared for the worst to happen at any moment,” said Poroshenko.
