President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko met with the US President Barack Obama at the Summit on Nuclear Safety in Washington.
According to the Presidential press-service, the Heads of States discussed the development of the strategic partnership, situation in Donbas and Crimea, as well as coordinated their efforts for the full implementation of the Minsk Agreements by Russia.
Special attention was paid to the need for a speedy formation of the reform-minded coalition and government in Ukraine. In turn, Obama has confirmed the US commitment to provide the third loan guarantees in the amount of USD 1 billion upon formation of the government.
On a night of March 31, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko jointly with the official delegation arrived in the United States. His working visit is to last until April 2.
Poroshenko has already met with US Vice President Joe Biden and discussed the possibility to deploy international security mission to resolve the situation in Donbass. The Ukraine’s President also met with the Ukrainian Diaspora in Washington.
