KYIV (QHA) -

In a telephone conversation President Petro Poroshenko discussed the current situation in the Donbas with German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Advisor, reported the website of the Presidential Administration.

The parties discussed the security situation in Donbas. President of Ukraine expressed concern over Russian fighters’ provocations, including heavy weapons that are used despite the announcement of the ceasefire on September 1, the report says.

The parties agreed to intensify diplomatic efforts within the framework of the Tripartite Liaison Group and the Channel format in order to fulfill the security of the Minsk Agreements.

President of Ukraine thanked the German Chancellor and the French Advisor for the principled stance regarding the implementation of the sanctions pressure on Russia that aims to restore the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, reported the press-service.

Poroshenko and Merkel also stressed the importance to release all hostages, including those who are illegally held in Russia.
