KIEV (QHA) -

Ukrainian President Pyotr Poroshenko dubbed Vladimir Putin’s visit to Crimea, made without securing Ukraine’s consent, "a bid to stir up more tensions in Donbass and gesture of defiance to the civilized world", says a statement published by Poroshenko on his Facebook page.

“Putin’s coming to Ukraine without securing Ukraine’s consent is a gesture of defiance to the civilized world that serves to further aggravate tensions in Donbass and is part of the scenario currently played out by the Russian military and their mercenaries. Visits like this contribute to continued militarization and increased isolation of the Ukrainian peninsula,” writes the Ukrainian President.

It was reported earlier that Putin is to hold a meeting of the State Council focusing on tourism development in the Russian Federation on August 17, 2015.

Later today, Dmitry Medvedev, Russian Prime Minister, arrived in Crimea. Medvedev visited the Tavrida nationwide educational forum for youth held in the village of Stereguscheye and had a meeting with its participants.
