Petro Poroshenko, the President of Ukraine expects the new Head of UNESCO to keep monitoring the situation in the occupied Crimea in the sphere of UNESCO's responsibility.
The President wrote a corresponding message on his Facebook page.
“We hope that the new Head of the UNESCO will continue efforts of her predecessor in introduction of the direct monitoring of the situation in the occupied Crimea in the sphere of UNESCO's responsibility,” the President stated.
Poroshenko also believes that "the wind of changes in the Organization will intensify, as it really needs substantial reforms."
Earlier, the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine expressed their outrage against illegal works on the territory of the Bakhchysarai Historical and Cultural Reserve in the Russian-annexed Crimea
