Ukrainian President Poroshenko and Kazakh President Nazarbayev have reached common ground on a number of questions, Kazinform reports citing Nursultan Nazarbayev, Kazakh President, who met with Ukrainian President Pyotr Poroshenko in Astana on October 9.

“We have discussed political and economic cooperation between our countries and been able to reach common ground on a number of questions. The questions we are now discussing were and will be looked into at a meeting of the State Committee. The today’s business forum will also facilitate cooperation between our business circles and bolster our bilateral relations,” said Yelbasy (‘head of state’, ‘national leader’ - QHA).

Nursultan Nazarbayev went on to say that around 300 thousand ethnic Ukrainians, who currently live in Kazakhstan, are also part of the Kazakh nation.

A road map establishing priorities of the bilateral relations in economic, fuel, agricultural, transport, industrial and space industries in 2015-2017 is expected to be signed after the talks.

Pyotr Poroshenko and Nursultan Nazarbayev are also expected to take part in the Ukrainian-Kazakh business forum.
