Russian lawyer Nikolai Polozov said in an interview with that the Ukrainian authorities and society should "give the Crimean Tatars what they need."

Polozov notes that this is the Crimean Tatar autonomy.

“Otherwise, it turns out that Ukraine is exploiting these people who are now in the ghetto. And gives them nothing in return," he stressed.

Polozov drew attention to the fact that Crimean Tatar activists are applying this request to Kyiv, and not to Moscow.

"They do not rush to Putin, they do not ask:" Putin, make an autonomy for us. We will be in Russia." They submit these bills to the Verkhovna Rada. And not in the State Duma. And it seems to me that Ukraine will only become stronger if it supports the Crimean Tatars on this issue," he explained his idea.

Speaking about the role of the Crimean Tatars, the lawyer noted that at the moment nothing connects the Crimea and Ukraine, except the Crimean Tatars.

“Perhaps some people of other nationalities among the inhabitants of Crimea do not like Russia either, but they are extremely atomized. They are silent, and we do not know their number, and whether they are ready to fight for their homeland,” Polozov concluded.

The lawyer also said that liberation of the Kremlin prisoners will require time, and a methodology for their release.

"I can say one thing: to set them free, political decisions must be made," he stated.
