The so-called “prosecutor” of the annexed Crimea Natalia Poklonskaya wrote a letter of resignation, RIA Novosti reports.
“Today I have wrote a letter of resignation to relieve of my duties as public prosecutor of Crimea at the time of and in connection with my election to the State Duma,” said Poklonskaya.
She noted that the letter of resignation has already been forwarded to the Office of the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation.
“Since I was elected to the State Duma, my powers are suspended, and I relieve of my duties as public prosecutor of Crimea and get elected office. The length of my experience as a prosecutor is reserved, but I work and perform the duties of the deputy, being on elected post,” said Poklonskaya.
It is reported that Natalia Poklonskaya is going to head a commission to monitor the incomes of the State Duma deputies.
It should be noted that on September 20, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted a Resolution on non-recognition of the legitimacy of the elections to the State Duma of the Russian Federation of the 7th convocation, as well as their results and the legal consequences, and accordingly, the State Duma’s composition, powers, acts and decisions. A total of 264 Ukrainian MPs voted for this Resolution.
Ukraine has also appealed to the Security Council, the UN General Assembly, the parliaments of foreign states, international parliamentary assemblies and organizations to appeal not to recognize the legitimacy of the elections to the State Duma Russian seventh convocation.
