According to Vladislav Seleznyov, a spokesperson for the General Staff, the pilot of the SU-25 fighter jet which crashed today, was a Simferopol native.

“According to Vladislav Seleznyov, a spokesperson for the General Staff, the pilot, named Egor Bolshakov, was in the rank of a lieutenant and hailed from Simferopol. He received his training at the Flight Department of Kharkov Air Force University,” says a message posted on the website of 112 Ukraina TV Channel.

The pilot was qualified to fly the L-37 and Су-25 planes and had all the clearances to fly planes unassisted.
