This was stated by Serhiy Horbatiuk, chief of the PGO (Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine) special investigations directorate, at a briefing on Tuesday, Ukrainska Pravda reports.
“At a time of Maidan, the FSB (Russian Federal Security Service) representatives really visited Ukraine: 27 people in December, 7 people in the 20th of January and 7 more people on February 20, including Vladislav Surkov, representative of the Russian Presidential Administration,” Serhiy Horbatiuk said.
These facts had been thoroughly researched by investigators of the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine, and based on the results Hobatiuk claimed that the delegation arrived in Ukraine for the purpose of intelligence.
“They collected information about protest actions, organization of Maidan and its financing,” said Horbatiuk.
He also noted that there is no information that these people committed crimes on Maidan.
As a reminder: Earlier on, Valentyn Nalyvaichenko, the former chief of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), said about ‘Russian trace’. He claimed that Vladislav Surkov, adviser of Russian President Vladimir Putin, visited Kyiv and weapons were imported at a time of Maidan and shooting of protesters in winter of 2014.
