On his Facebook page, the leader of the Crimean Tatar people Mustafa Jemilev noted that the Ukrainian delegation presented a Statement on "Russia's on-going aggression against Ukraine and the illegal occupation of Crimea" at the OSCE Council meeting in Vienna.
- Yesterday a meeting of the OSCE Permanent Council took place, in which I. Prokopchuk, the Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the International Organizations in Vienna, informed the members of the organization about the repression by the Crimea occupation authorities against the pro-Ukrainian citizens who do not support the illegal occupation of the Crimean peninsula, - The Presidential Commissioner for Crimean Tatar people Affairs wrote.
The Statement noted that a number of Crimean Tatar activists, in particular, Deputy Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Ahtem Chiygoz, are in detention on political grounds.
The Russian Federation was also called to provide free and unrestricted access for international observers in Crimea.
