WASHINGTON (QHA) -

At the hearings in the House of Representatives, the Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Paul Selva said that Russia's actions threaten NATO's security.

It was about deploying Russian ground-based cruise missiles. It is noted that these actions violate the treaty with the US and USSR signed in 1987 in Washington.

"The system itself presents a risk to most of our facilities in Europe and we believe that the Russians have deliberately deployed it in order to pose a threat to NATO and to facilities within the NATO area of responsibility," Selva said during a House Armed Services Committee hearing.

Earlier, in mid-February, The New York Times publication, citing its own sources, reported that Russia deployed the newest ground-based cruise missile.
