The MPs of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine voted for the recommendations resulting from the parliamentary hearings on the topic: "Strategy of reintegration of temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol in Ukraine."

According to the recommendations, the President was advised to prepare amendments to the Constitution of Ukraine, as well as to convey the recognition of the Crimean Tatars, the Karaites, Krymchaks as indigenous peoples of Crimea to the Parliament for taking the decision.

It was also proposed to optimize the administrative and territorial structure of Crimea. The MPs offered to deprive the city of Sevastopol of its special status, which it has up till now, and change the Autonomous Republic of Crimea to the Crimean Tatar Autonomous Republic.

In addition, the participants of the parliamentary hearings have suggested adopting a law on the state strategy of de-occupation and reintegration of Crimea, on collaboration and lustration on the peninsula, as well as on providing property rights in the temporarily occupied territory.

It is also recommended to assist the Ministry of Temporarily Occupied Territories and IDPs in preventing those persons, who are recognized collaborators, from holding any public office after the de-occupation of Crimea.

The Cabinet of Ministers is also recommended to establishment - together with international partners – the human rights and charity organizations for the protection of Ukrainian citizens’ rights in the temporarily occupied territory.
