Mejlis of Crimean Tatar people call on Crimean Tatar MPs not to hurry to hold office in Crimean Parliament.

Head of Mejlis of Crimean Tatar people Refat Chubarov announced this, commenting the appointment of Mejlis member Remzi Ilyasov vice-chairman of the Parliament.

“Our colleague has hurried up. Involvement of one person, even if he is vice-chairman, will avail nothing in settlement of Crimean Tatar fundamental issues. We called on former MPs of Crimean Parliament not to hurry up in holding offices in new government, still our call left unheard”- he said.

To recall, May 21, Crimean Parliament appointed member of Mejlis of Crimean Tatar people Remzi Ilyasov deputy chairman of the Parliament.

Crimean Parliament speaker Vladimir Konstantinov characterized the appointment as a “good sign”.

“For a long time we insisted that Ilyasov be involved in governing bodies of the Parliament. Our work is very dynamic, so it would be wrong if Mejlis of Crimean Tatar people will not be involved into legislative work of Crimea. One can criticize our work, or oppose, but should be involved in the process.”- he said.

“I believe our decision is a good sign. We will start our joint work on solving our common with Crimean Tatars’ problems”- he added.
