MOSCOW (QHA) -

March 16, the high-ranking officials of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe intend to meet in Moscow and discuss the work of the monitoring mission in Ukraine, according to the official statement of the OSCE, published on the organization's website.

Similar meetings are planned in Kyiv, Berlin and Paris - in the capitals of the countries participating in the Norman format negotiations.

“Kurz [OSCE Chairperson-in-Office - Ed.] underlined the importance of a strong communication channel between the countries of the “Normandy” format (France, Germany, the Russian Federation and Ukraine) and the OSCE representatives on the ground, including the SMM. In that regard, he noted that Ambassador Ertugrul Apakan, Chief Monitor of the SMM, and Ambassador Martin Sajdik, Special Representative of the Chairperson-in-Office in Ukraine and in the Trilateral Contact Group, will hold consultations in Moscow on 16 March. Further consultations are anticipated in Kyiv, Berlin and Paris,” reads the statement.

Earlier, Principal Deputy Chief Monitor of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission Alexander Hug, during a briefing on March 10 obsderved an aggravation of the situation in Donbas. The OSCE has also recorded 86 civilian casualties in the Donbas since the beginning of the year.
