KYIV (QHA) -

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin during a meeting with the Head of the OSCE and Italian Foreign Minister Angelino Alfano stated the need for providing access to the Special Monitoring Mission (SMM) of the OSCE to the occupied Crimea, according to the message on the website of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry.

“The Russian practice of restricting the activity of the OSCE SMM in the occupied territories is inadmissible, according to Pavlo Klimkin. Observers of the Mission must have free and unimpeded access throughout Ukraine, including to the occupied territories of the Crimea and Donbas," reads the message.

Reportedly, during the meeting, the parties agreed that the UN peacekeeping mission can "substantially enhance the effectiveness of international efforts aimed at restoring the territorial integrity of Ukraine."

Earlier, during a meeting with Pavlo Klimkin, Angelino Alfano said that no other alternative to the Minsk accords exists in resolving the conflict in the Donbas.
