OSCE Secretary General Lamberto Zannier said that the Crimean issue remains unresolved for the organization.
“The OSCE as an organization has not recognized the results of the referendum. For us, the Crimea remains an unresolved issue,” said Zannier during the Conflict Zone program, writes Deustche Welle.
Zannier also expressed disagreement with the ban on admission of the observers to Crimea and noted that the OSCE deals with issues related to the peninsula, however added that Donbas remains the main mission of the organization.
It was reported earlier that the Independent Media Trade Union of Ukraine and National Union of Journalists called on the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media Dunja Mijatovic to establish a special mission to study the situation with the rights of journalists in Crimea.
Dunja Mijatovic welcomed the idea of creating a mission and assured that she is already working on this issue. In the near future she is going to visit Ukraine and Russia to meet with senior officials. The key issue in the negotiations will be the mission in Crimea.
