Simferopol (QHA) - Head of external relations department of Mejlis of Crimean Tatar people Ali Khamzin is convinced that Ukrainian authorities should pay attention to the report “Integration of the formerly deported people in Crimea, Ukraine”, prepared by OSCE High Commissioner office.
Khamzin said this on September 19, during the meeting with the EU Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighborhood Policy Stefan Fule, informs press service of Mejlis.
Referring to the report, Khamzin pointed out to the Ukrainian Foreign Minister Leonid Kozhara that statements of the Ministry about non-discrimination of the Crimean Tatars in Ukraine are outright lies.
“Annual reports of the U.S. Department of State as well as reports of many international organizations, including OSCE and UN Human Rights Committee state a tense situation in interethnic matters in Crimea. Are they not true then?” Khamzin appealed to Minister Kozhara.
Khamzin noted that Ukrainian Foreign Ministry frankly ignored the report ““Integration of the formerly deported people in Crimea, Ukraine”, prepared by OSCE High Commissioner Office.
“OSCE has officially sent the report to the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry several times, but for a long time there is no reaction from the Ministry”, noted Khamzin.
In turn, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Leonid Kozhara said that he is familiar with the report.
“I think this is one of the first such studies conducted by an international organization. I would like to see more of them in future,” said Kozhara.
At the same time Kozhara stressed that as an official, he cannot use the report, as in his opinion the OSCE report is correct under the European law, but is absolutely incorrect with respect to the internal analysis and the laws of Ukraine.
