KYIV (QHA) -

The analysis by one of the OSCE institutions of the "elections" to the Russian State Duma held in the occupied Crimea reveals that the State Duma of the Russian Federation of the 7th convocation is not a legitimate authority, which means that all of its decisions cannot be regarded as legally binding, reads a statement published on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

“Due to the illegitimacy of the Russian parliamentary elections in the occupied Crimea, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine legitimately and justifiably calls into question the legitimacy of all powers of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the 7th convocation. At the same time Ukraine and its foreign partners condemned the organization of illegal voting by the occupation authorities on the Ukrainian peninsula on September 18, 2016, addition to the sanctions list those who were elected and took part in the electoral farce,” the Foreign Ministry said.

As QHA reported earlier, a draft resolution on the non-recognition of legitimacy of the elections to the State Duma of the Russian Federation due to the vote in the territory annexed Crimea has been registered at the Verkhovna Rada on September 19.
